Bank ratings information is based upon bank asset quality, capital, earnings, interest rate risk, liquidity, and operations. Ratings data displayed on the following pages includes bank name and location, FDIC certificate number, and our Echo Partners star rating.
Star ratings are on a 1 - 5 scale (5 best). Most banks should be rated 3 stars or 4 stars. Exceptionally strong banks may be rated as highly as 5 stars, while weakened banks will usually be rated as only 1 star or 2 stars. Banks rated 1 star are in serious jeopardy of potential closure.
A note on closed banks. It is generally the policy of Echo Partners to continue to make available the most recent bank safety rating on banks that have been closed. Once financial data for the subsequent quarter is available and analyzed these closed banks will be removed from the ratings. It is possible due to timing that an updated rating for an already closed bank will be posted even after the bank has been closed.
